Baytown Area Amateur Radio Club to Participate in 2026 Texas QSO Party

BAYTOWN, TEXAS — September 10, 2026 — The Baytown Area Amateur Radio Club (BAARC), call sign K5BAY, is pleased to announce its participation in the 2026 Texas QSO Party, taking place September 19–20, 2026.

Club members will operate from the Old River-Winfree Fire Station, 4822 FM 565, Old River-Winfree, Texas, putting K5BAY on the air and representing the Baytown area and Southeast Texas.

The Texas QSO Party is one of the Lone Star State’s premier amateur radio operating events. Radio operators from across Texas make contacts with stations throughout the United States and around the world, while operators outside Texas attempt to contact stations in as many of the state’s 254 counties as possible.

Members of BAARC will use the event to demonstrate their operating skills, make contacts with fellow amateur radio operators, and promote the amateur radio hobby.

Events such as the Texas QSO Party are more than friendly competition. They provide amateur radio operators an opportunity to practice the communications and technical skills that can prove valuable during hurricanes, severe weather, communications outages, and other emergencies.

The Baytown Area Amateur Radio Club welcomes amateur radio operators of all experience levels as well as members of the community who are interested in learning more about amateur radio.

Come visit us at the Old River-Winfree Fire Station, listen for K5BAY on the air, and help us put Southeast Texas on the air during the 2026 Texas QSO Party!

If you wish to help set up please come out at 4pm on Friday 

We will be opening the fire station at 6am on Saturday and 7am on Sunday.
